Esteban Brunello, Owner/Wine Director

Buenos Aires native Esteban Brunello brings over 31 years of restaurant experience, earning a B.S. in Business Administration, Hospitality & Catering Management from Ecole Pour L’Hotellerie “La Suisse” in Argentina. He worked his way up from busser to wine director, holding key roles at top Bay Area restaurants like Farina, SPQR, Oliveto, and The Barrel Room. A certified sommelier and “Italian Wine Specialist,” he was named 2013’s “Rising Star Sommelier of San Francisco/Bay Area” by StarChefs.com. Esteban previously owned Bar Brunello in Downtown Durham and Brunello Wine Bar. In 2022, he became a winemaker through Cornell University, collaborating with Pleb Urban Winery (North Carolina) and Rosha Wines (Republic of Georgia). Fluent in Spanish, English, and some Italian, he oversees the wine program, including operations, ordering, sales, staff training, and sommelier duties.

What You’ll Do:
Provide a warm, welcoming atmosphere for customers.
Share your extensive knowledge of wines and assist customers in selecting the perfect bottle.
Organize, stock, and showcase our curated wine collection.
Assist with in-store wine tastings and events.

What We’re Looking For:
Extensive knowledge of wines, regions, and varietals (required).
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
A genuine passion for wine and a desire to share your expertise.
Retail or hospitality experience (preferred but not required).
Availability to work evenings and weekends.
