The fourth annual Durham Wine Tasting Series is a collection of monthly wine tasting classes hosted by Bar Brunello. The classes are informative yet relaxed and are open to guests with varying levels of knowledge, from the novice wine drinker to the seasoned taster. Classes are lead by owner and wine director Esteban Brunello, who guides guests through the wine tasting process. Guests will learn how to identify different wine notes, discover techniques of the winemaking process, and receive recommendations for food pairings.

Making high elevation wines out of predominantly Italian and Spanish varieties, owner and winemaker, MJ Keenan, along with his wife, Jennifer, and Winemaker Tim White, are producing low production wines from fruit grown in Willcox, Arizona. Combining whole cluster, open topped bin fermentation, stainless steel submerged cap extended maceration, and modified carbonic maceration for the Reds, and whole cluster, skin contact, or pressed stainless steel fermentation for the Whites and Rose’s.

Brunello Di Montalcino, 4-Year Anniversary Party!

This flight marks the four-year anniversary of Bar Brunello and we’re celebrating by pouring one of our all-time favorite wines: Brunello di Montalcino. Famed as one of the most finely crafted (and expensive) varietals, this class will take a deep dive into the structure, complexity, and texture of the world’s best expression of Sangiovese Grosso.

Raw wine has emerged as a bright star in today’s wine world. Raw Wine (also referred to as natural wine) is an artisanal product made without additives and with minimal intervention. These wines are vibrant, intense, complex and alive!
